Happy New Year and welcome to 2024! We are looking forward to the start of our 50th year and plan to bring you some special articles and events in the coming months celebrating this milestone.

The Board engagement committee is exploring bringing back tabling and sampling events as well as local producer visits in 2024.

The Co-op continues to arrange spectacular cooking classes, both virtual and in person, that strengthen our Co-op Ends to create a vibrant and inclusive community and to serve as an educational resource. We will strive to have a board member at every class to be present to our community and answer questions about the Co-op.

Join us January 20th from 2-4pm for an Indian afternoon tea party virtual cooking class taught by longtime Co-op instructor, Sirisha Bhandaru. Cook along in your kitchen with our class meal kit and learn flavorful fun recipes.

In February you can satisfy your sweet tooth in a healthy way with elevated versions of three artisan cookie recipes from local baker, Hannah Fink of Tooth Butter Cottage Bakery, in the Whole Grain Valentine's Cookies virtual baking class on Saturday, February 10th from 12-2pm.

Later this winter you can do a deep dive into Russian culture and sample a wide range of seasonal delights from a country with a fascinating cuisine in the Taste of Russia - Two Part Series, including Summer Picnic at the Dasha on February 27th and Winter Festival Feast on March 5th.

Check out our class calendar for all of the offerings. You can sign up for classes online or in person at the store registers. If you missed previous cooking classes but still want to learn, videos and recipes are available for some classes.

The Board voted to move the January meeting from January 8th to the 15th. This is a one-time change and the board meetings will resume on the second Monday in February.

All owners are welcome and encouraged to attend Board meetings. Meetings are held on Google Meet as well as in-person at 1800 S Oak St, Suite 100 in Champaign, IL 61820. For questions, email board@commonground.coop. We love hearing from our owners!
