Cranberry Orange Scones

All-purpose flour

Pastry flour
1 cup
Baking powder
1 tablespoon
1/4 cup
1/2 teaspoon
Butter, cut into small pieces
1/4 cup

Zest from orange
1 teaspoon
Fresh cranberries, chopped
1 cup
White chocolate chips
1/2 cup
Powdered sugar
1 cup
Fresh orange juice
2 tablespoons

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, pastry flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  3. Cut in the butter using a dough cutter or your hands. Mix until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix together the buttermilk, orange zest, and vanilla. Pour into the dry ingredients.
  5. Mix until a rough dough forms, but make sure not to overmix!
  6. Fold in the cranberries and white chocolate chips.
  7. Turn onto a counter and lightly knead into a 1" thick disk.
  8. Cut into wedges and place on a baking sheet lined with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper.
  9. Bake for 20-22 minutes until crisp and fully cooked.
  10. Whisk together the powdered sugar and orange juice to make the glaze.
  11. Allow scones to cool slightly then drizzle the glaze on top.
