Common Ground Wins Best Vegan Cake in Champaign Chef Challenge

This month the Board of Directors is proud to congratulate the Common Ground team for winning ‘Best Vegan Cake” in the Champaign Vegan Chef Challenge!

The Champaign Vegan Chef Challenge is a month-long event showcasing new vegan menu items created by chefs at local restaurants. Many wonderful restaurants took up the challenge this year with many delicious entries, but it is official – Our Cake was the Best!

The lemon strawberry cake is a Common Ground summer specialty, and we are not surprised that this delicious treat proved itself the best slice around! Remember to take a second look at our wonderful vegan cakes on your next visit - you knead to try them!

Many restaurants keep at least one popular vegan item on their regular menu after the challenge concludes, so if you missed trying out some of the dishes – you can still find many of them still being served at our local restaurants.
