Join us for our next virtual cooking class and meal kit and learn how to make Panzanella, Asparagus Brie Risotto, and Lemongrass Panna Cotta with Blueberry Sauce! This class will be taught by cooking instructor, Julia Paniago. Tune in for the Zoom live class and cook along in your kitchen using the pre-portioned meal kit and enjoy a delicious dinner and dessert by the end of class.

 

The menu includes:

  • Panzanella - a flavorful appetizer with toasted cubed sourdough bread, tomatoes, shallot, basil, and a homemade lemon garlic vinaigrette
  • Asparagus Brie Risotto - a creamy arborio risotto made with chicken broth, white wine, shallots, thyme, and served with melted brie and asparagus
  • Lemongrass Panna Cotta with Blueberry Sauce - an Italian custard set with gelatin and sweetened cream topped with a homemade blueberry sauce

 

Register using the form below and preorder your class meal kit to pick up on Friday, April 19th from 4-6pm in the Common Ground Flatlander Classroom. Tune in for the virtual Zoom live cooking class on Saturday, April 20th from 3-5pm. Recipes are portioned to serve 2-3 people. Vegetarian modifications are available for this meal kit and would replace chicken broth and gelatin with vegetable broth and agar agar. About Instructor: Julia Paniago

 

 

Meet Julia Paniago, a spirited Brazilian culinary enthusiast hailing from the vibrant heart of southeast Brazil—a region renowned for its rich, flavorful cuisine. Julia's culinary journey began amidst cherished family gatherings, where the aromas of homemade meals filled her childhood. Growing up in a farming family deeply connected her to nature's bounty, sparking a lifelong fascination with ingredients. Though unable to pursue gastronomy initially, Julia seized the opportunity to delve into agronomy—a path that allowed her to explore the very elements she adored in her culinary creations.

 

Her insatiable curiosity about the world fuels her passion for global exploration. An avid traveler, she's captivated by diverse cultures and their compelling histories, seeking to uncover the essence of each country she visits.

Before venturing to Champaign for a groundbreaking project supporting Africa's soybean value chain, Julia shared her culinary skills through mini courses she lectured in Brazil. Wherever she roams, she unwaveringly shares her love for the art of cooking and delights in teaching others its joys.
