GM Update: April Newsletter

by Gary Taylor, GM

April 2018

Hello Common Grounders!

Wow! It has been a whirlwind of a first month and I am so excited to see what is next! My amazing staff, owners, customers, and suppliers are definitely keeping me busy. Coming up in April I will be heading out to Raleigh, North Carolina for the NCG (National Co+op Grocers) Spring meeting where I will be able to network with many cooperative GMs from across the country! I look forward to speaking with new and seasoned leaders of the movement to share as much information as possible in the true cooperative spirit!

Speaking of leaders, I have discovered that we have numerous awesome ones working right here at the coop. So, it seems to me that you all deserve a chance to get to familiar with them for when you have questions and would like to talk to someone with a specific area of expertise. In the coming newsletters my goal is to introduce you to each of our leaders and let them tell you a little about who they are, what they do, and why they are passionate about the co-operative movement!  In this month's edition of the newsletter we will feature Joanne Mierek, our Operations Manager, and Andi Marietta, our Front of House Manager. These two have been particularly valuable to my on-boarding here at CGFC and I would be lost without them!

Spring and local produce season is right around the corner! I cannot wait to see our latest local offerings!

Cooperatively yours,
