FROM THE GM: JANUARY 2020

Hello Cooperators!

I hope that you all had a safe and happy holiday season! Welcome to the '20's!

The common, general resolutions that people set at the beginning of the year are generally of the self help variety. You know the ones. "I resolve to eat healthy, lose weight, quit a bad habit, start exercising, etc." I have attempted and failed in just as many of these endeavors as most humans. So this year I want to do it a little differently and urge all of our owners to try something new with me. This year I want to begin the New Year by reminding myself of what is important and set some goals accordingly. This year I resolve to choose a local, non-profit group... and actually do something to help them! I resolve to make a difference in the community I live in. I am not just talking about donating cash, but that is certainly an option. I am talking about helping through volunteering. I haven't yet decided which one, but feeding people is the career I have chosen and I will plan to choose an organization that does just that. If you have a soft spot for the homeless, broken and abused families, mistreated animals, local farmers or our environment, there are a multitude of local organizations that could use some assistance. You need only to look at our Round-Up For Good Program to find a group that could use your help!

So, take your time, search within yourself, decide who you think would benefit most from your support and contact them. Find out what they need, choose a day that fits your schedule and commit some time to benefit that cause. We can even help put you in contact with one (or more) of these groups to get you started. Just let us know who you are and what your passion is!

If you decide to resolve to help your community we would love to feature you in our newsletter. Send a quick email to marketing@commonground.coop to tell us about the group you volunteered for, how you helped and what you learned!

From all of us to all of you, and on the Common Ground we share, no matter your resolution, good luck and have a great 2020!
