From the GM: December 2018

Hello All,

As we get into the midst of the holiday season I would like to remind everyone about our values here at the coop in terms of supporting our local suppliers and community.

End number 4 states that "our local food system is equitable, robust and environmentally sound".

For many it is gift giving time and here at the coop we have a multitude of gift ideas for that hard to shop for person on your list! I know a grocery store may not be the first place you think of for gift shopping but where else can you get all of the best LOCAL ingredients to put in a basket for your foodie friends and relatives? Where else can you find fine wine and LOCAL cheese that no one else carries? How about that person on your list that really likes or needs soaps and shampoos without harmful ingredients? If you aren't sure what someone wants you can always try a gift card. We may not have everything for everybody but I am sure we have something for everyone! By giving the gift of local instead of shopping at the "normal" gift buying venues you are ensuring that we keep our local food system robust!

End number 1 states that "the Co-op is the center of a vibrant, inclusive community".

As we speak of giving please remember to check out our Round Up for Good program. So far since 2012 this program has raised over $220,000 for local organizations. In December we are rounding up for Crisis Nursery. Please see more about what Crisis Nursery is all about here. By supporting organizations such as this one, as well as the others that are chosen by you, our owners, we are all making sure that we are supporting those in our community that desperately need help.

Thank you for reading and thank you for your support!

Gary
