Fall Cupcake Virtual Baking Class & Kit

Join us for a virtual baking class with Heidi Leuszler of Berries and Flour, where we will be making delicious fall-themed cupcakes and hot toddy mocktails using seasonal and local ingredients! Participants will learn how to bake their own Sweet Pumpkin Spicebush cupcakes with a spiced batter using roasted local sweet potato, local kabocha winter squash, and native Spicebush berries frosted with homemade cream cheese icing. Heidi will guide participants on how to bake using hyper-local ingredients and teach how to decorate cupcakes and pipe frosting to make pumpkins, leaves, and other patterns. Plus, the kit includes a delightful hot toddy mocktail with Heidi's own Midwest Chai blend, enhanced with local honey, lemon, and cinnamon that can be enjoyed while the cupcakes bake. The $40 class kit will include recipes, pre-portioned ingredients for cupcakes and hot toddy mocktails, a piping tip and several piping bags, cupcake liners, parchment paper, and natural food coloring for frosting decorations.

 

Register below and preorder your class kit to pick up on Friday, November 10th from 4-6pm in the Common Ground Flatlander Classroom. Tune in to Zoom for the live baking class on Saturday, November 11 from 12-2pm. By the end of class, participants will have learned how to bake and decorate cupcakes and enjoy making hot toddy mocktail drinks.
