Discover how to craft your own kombucha in this hands-on class led by Tom Bassett and Carol Spindel! The class will cover the two-stage brewing process. Participants will prepare a gallon of kombucha for the first fermentation stage along with detailed instructions on the bottling process for the second stage of fermentation.
Along the way, students will explore flavor combinations, learn how to care for their SCOBY, and gain confidence to continue brewing at home. Whether you’re interested in the health benefits or simply enjoying a hands-on experience, this class offers a fun and approachable introduction to the art of
kombucha.

About the Instructors:
Tom Bassett and Carol Spindel live in Urbana and have been brewing homemade, non-alcoholic kombucha since 2020. They learned the process at a Common Ground class and are now on their 150th batch! Their favorite flavor is lemon-ginger-yaupon.
