I wanted to take this opportunity to let everyone know that we have accomplished one of our biggest objectives when I signed on as GM at Common Ground!
Loan payments from the 2012 expansion that were postponed a year ago are now being paid! Owners are already receiving checks! At this point all payments that were originally due in August through December of 2017 are approved for payment. We want to get these paid in the proper months so please be on the lookout for mail from the co-op if you have a loan due to be paid to you! We need to verify a few things in order to send you your check.
This coming January we hope to secure the ability to make payment for the loans that were originally due in 2018. We (the Board and the GM) will have to discuss this process with our loaning bank and provide business projections that show we have the ability to pay without endangering the co-op every year going forward, but with your support we can do it!
Please note: We will continue to be one year behind on these payments for the time being. If that should change and we can get back on the original schedule we will let you know!
Also, and this is VERY IMPORTANT, please, please, please, make sure we have all of your correct information if you have loan payment due to you. We can't pay you if we can't find you!! Our own Joanne Mierek has been trying very hard to track people down who have moved, changed phone numbers, or are not very good at reading personal emails (like me). Please help make her job easier and help yourself get paid sooner by sending her an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) to update your information. If you aren't an e-mailer please call (217) 352-3347 to let us know. Even if you have not moved, or made any other changes, it might be a good idea to touch base with us just to be sure. Even if your loan is not due until 2025, please make sure you update your information.
