Co-op Owners get a discount for sending their kids to Amara Yoga & Arts! Save $20 on a 6-class pass (regulary $120). Just give your Owner number when registering or use the "coop" promo code when signing up online. Parents can drop off kids and take a yoga class in the South Studio at the same time!

Amara Yoga & Arts offers Kids Yoga and Art Classes every Saturday (11:00 - 12:30pm) and Sunday (12:00-1:30pm)!


All Ages Kids Yoga & Art: Saturday 11:00am-12:30pm

Kids will find joy and bliss making arts and crafts following a yoga class, which warms them up to be creatively centered. Bring your child into the world of yoga and its many benefits. Yoga at an early age encourages self-esteem and body awareness with a physical activity that's noncompetitive. Physically, it enhances their flexibility, strength, and coordination. In addition, their concentration and sense of calmness improves. In this fun class, kids learn basic yoga elements through focused breathing, play, storytelling, balance and creative visualization. The classes are interactive and the children also learn through games in which they take turns becoming the “teacher”. Savasana (resting pose) will include creative visualization and body scanning for relaxation.


Kids teacher Kathryn Fitzgerald holds a Masters of Fine Arts from the San Francisco Art Institute, a Masters in Special Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and she is an Illinois Certified Elementary Ed and Art Teacher and a Certified Illinois Learning Behavior Specialist. She is a 200-hour certified yoga teacher through YogaWorks - ERYT (experienced registered yoga teacher) and is certified as RCYT (registered children’s yoga teacher) - through Yoga Alliance.

TWEENS & TEENS YOGA and Art: Sunday 12:00-1:30pm

Yoga for Tweens and Teens gives growing yogis a space and time to be present and aware of their subtle body and energy vibrations. The physical practice of asana (yoga poses) will be introduced in a supportive dynamic union of breath and movement set to energetic music. Tweens/teens will experience a sense of awareness and wellness that will carry over into all areas of their lives.
