Aloo tikki chaat is a popular variety of chaat that consists of crisp potato patties, topped with spicy cilantro mint chutney, a sweet and sour date tamarind chutney, some cooling yogurt and some thin crispy chickpea noodles. Chaat refers to a class of dishes that have several components that make them spicy, salty, tangy, crispy, crunchy, hot and cold all at the same time. They are one of the most popular street food and are enjoyed as a snack in the evening. There are several varieties of chaat and they vary by region. They make for excellent party appetizers.
