Placing a Special Order

We are happy to place special orders for items by the case/in bulk and for products not available at Common Ground. To place a special order, please stop by the co-op between 12 and 8 pm. Special order forms are available at the Member Services table, or you can ask a cashier for assistance.

Frequently asked questions about placing a special order:

Do I need to fill out the special order form?

YES! Please include ALL of the information asked for on the special order sheet. Especially important is the item number of the product (6-digit code) or the upc number (12-digit) if item number is not available. This assures accuracy of orders and saves time.

Will I receive a discount on my special order?

-Members receive a 10% discount on case size orders
-Case size orders must be pre-ordered to receive a discount
-No discount applies to items already on sale (discounts cannot be combined)
-If you order product as a single item (by the each), it will be regular retail price

When will I receive my order?

If ordering from the United Natural Foods Inc (UNFI) catalog, you should receive your order in under a week. Tricia Six, Grocery Manager, will call or email you when the order arrives (or to let you know that the item is out of stock/discontinued).

If ordering from Frontier or from another company, Tricia will contact you and let you know when we plan to place our next order with this company.

Can I special order items from local producers?

Yes! If looking for a local item, ie. local honey, flour, popcorn etc, fill out a special order sheet and talk to/email Tricia to find out when we'll place our next order with this producer. Cost for local items usually does not fluctuate as it does from a distributor and so the cost out on the sales floor will be the exact cost of the item (-the 10% discount).
