Is the co-op more expensive than a regular grocery store?

It depends on the item. If you compare the prices of many of the items we carry with the exact same item at other local natural food stores, you will find our prices very competitive. Our organic produce may cost more than what you are used to paying for conventional because of costs to the farmer, lack of government subsidies, and higher quality of goods. Though we don't have the buying power of a huge grocery chain, we balance our product mix to benefit our shoppers and our local growers and producers. Remember that Common Ground has two bottom lines: our finances and our community. By shopping here you invest in your community and are supporting sustainable food systems.
