Cooking Healthy on a Budget: Smoky Tempeh Chili
Led by Steve Schaberg
Thursday, January 5th, 6-7:30pm
Free*, must register
This class is part of Common Ground’s Food For All Program featuring one of our budget-friendly recipes that can be prepared for less than $2.00 per serving! Vegetarian Chili is a co-op classic and we'll be updating it with tempeh. Unlike tofu and TVP, tempeh is a whole bean food made via fermentation, so it is naturally higher in protein, fiber, and vitamins. We'll also be discussing time and money saving tips for cooking dry beans for multiple meals at once.
These classes fill up weeks in advance and many people would love the opportunity to take them, so please only sign up if you are able to attend to ensure we have the most attendance possible. In this class, you will get to help prepare the recipe (and of course taste the recipe). You'll also receive a booklet full of great tips for stretching your food dollars and still feeding your family great food, as well as access to dozens more Food For All recipes.
*There is a $5 fee to reserve a seat. When you attend the class you will receive a $5 voucher.
