Learn how to re-purpose plastic shopping bags into a sturdy crocheted market tote that you can finish in time for farmers market season. Don't know how to crochet? No problem--we'll teach you. We'll also have plenty of "plarn" a.k.a. plastic bag yarn on hand to get you on your way, and show you how to cut more so you can use up your own plastic bag stash. You don't have to have a crochet hook to participate, but if you want to grab your own before class, look for J or larger, even M. Big needles help slash the time on this project. Check The I.D.E.A. Store first for crochet hooks, as they are available in a variety of sizes, and are only $1.
Note: This is a dual workshop with The I.D.E.A. Store. You can sign up for this workshop OR the mid-week workshop at The I.D.E.A. Store on Wednesday night, March 15 from 5:30 to 8:30, which ever works best with your schedule. If you think you might need extra help, start your project at The I.D.E.A. Store workshop and use your ticket to get additional help at the Saturday workshop at Common Ground.
Type of Class: Hands-On Crafting
As always, if you prefer, you may sign up in person with our Front of House staff at the registers in the store.
*Because this is a joint workshop with the I.D.E.A. Store, we are not able to offer discounted tickets except for Food For All Scholarship tickets.
